Google is an extremely popular and large search engine. It is good for adults to use but maybe it has too many options for kids to choose from. It ranks all its sites by popularity. Perhaps the Education Channel and some other search engines designed for kids could be easier to use.
Cuil is another excellent search engine. It is also good for adults to use. It ranks all it's sites by relevance, so you will get different results than google when you search here.
The ABC is an excellent site to research for kids. It is especially good for news, science and social issues that happen here in Australia and the rest of the world.
